Workshop Feedback
These comments are all from workshops held at Yahoo! Inc. during 2005, as part of the original initiative to introduce agility into that oganization. The comments are given here to provide an idea of the style of the workshop, from a participant's perspective. It is important to remember that the feedback here applies to specific sessions. As previously stated, each Agile Thinking session will be different, perhaps very different, from preceeeding sessions. The group itself will set the tone - and often define the content - of each new workshop. Expect the unexpected.

"Style of delivery, energy, etc. were right on target. You set a zen-like tone in the room and it started in your first comments..."
-- Chris N.

"The most impressive part of your facilitation was your ability to tease out meaning and clarity from unclear comments and especially from frustrations voiced from the team. You did a great job of encouraging more discussion in a very comfortable environment."
-- Sharon C.

"The [workshop] was most effective for its success in changing the atmosphere and the substance of communication and action. We were obliged to ask important questions of ourselves about ourselves and our deeper sentiments about our work. The entire encounter unfolded outside the box, and so was alternately awkward, liberating, and fun."
-- David M.

"An important outcome of today's session was...there was movement. People began talking. There's significant division within the group, and it's impacting cooperation and performance. Getting people to surface and confront issues is a major step. We need to build follow-on momentum and make change happen."
-- Steve B.

"I thought the session was great and would recommend the entire organization going through something like this. I also think it would be interesting to have more execs participate - if for no other reason than that we all have the same view of the team and team dynamics. I thought you did an excellent job of facilitating the exercises and the follow-up discussions and making it a 'safe' environment to explore in."
-- Lisa T.

"Overall impression: good at beginning to chip away at some of the preconceived notions, old ugly ways of thinking, and unproductive defenses we all are walking around with..."
-- Amy R.

"I thought the energy level was very good. I felt like we were all engaged, and you kept us moving and thinking at a good clip. Some frustrations were surfaced that also revealed the sincerity and openness of the meeting, the process, and the team."
-- Web Hosting team member

"It was different than what I expected. Instead of listening to lecture or being told the concepts of scrum/agile development, we experienced the concepts and principles through exercises. I appreciated this approach because it made it necessary to act on the principles instead of just reiterating the principles in a discussion."
-- Denise G.

"There was a point in the first session where I found myself saying things out loud that I have only really been thinking to myself. This is a testament to your incredible ability. Thanks again for such an inspiring day."
